How Hawaii businesses use social media
In October 2014, eMarketer Principal Analyst Debra Aho Williamson conducted a webinar, Eight Trends to Watch for in 2015. Some of the data presented was not so surprising for us, but some was! The top trends Debra outlined include:
- More businesses are allocating more budgets to social media
- More businesses are purchasing social ads
- Most users will access social media via a mobile device
- Marketers will embrace video
- Facebook first won’t always be the right approach
In response to the eMarketing report, AdWeek recently created an Infographic on Who’s Really Using Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Tumblr and Instagram in 2015. What was the one trend AdWeek took note of and highlighted for marketers to concentrate on? MOBILE! And we agree. Whether it’s your website or social media content, we can’t stress enough that everything needs to be mobile centric!
From this report, an interesting Facebook conversation was recently sparked among a few colleagues in Hawaii. Is Hawaii reflected in this trend report?
We were quite inspired by this discussion that called for some data on how Hawaii’s businesses are using social media. Hawaii is so unique and isolated that we thought Hawaii must be somewhat different than the national “average” as to how Hawaii’s businesses perceive and use social media. How do we know for sure unless we find out?
If you own a business, oversee or manage the social media operations for a business, we’re looking for your feedback. Please take a few minutes out of your busy day to answer a few pain free and anonymous questions. We know your time is valuable, so for everyone who takes the survey we’ll enter you in a random drawing to win a book of your choice from this list. Details for the drawing are at the end of the survey.
We’ll release the data in March 2015, and be sure to email anyone who conducts the survey the results (with their permission of course).
